The ELC network represents a rich source of expertise on technical and scientific aspects of the safety and use of food additives, enzymes and cultures. It provides factual science-based information to EU decision makers, journalists and consumer groups. It also publishes materials on the function of these ingredients and how they can contribute to better nutrition, and the role of biotechnology.
